Community Picnic in the Park
Saturday May 9th – 4-8pm
The Friends of the Friends of the Gunter Library invite you to an old-fashioned Picnic in the Park! May 9th from 4:00 – 8:00PM.
We will feature local musicians keeping with the old fashioned theme. Peace In The Valley and In His Vineyard are local a Capella quartets, Michael and Ashley Logan will be singing some old fashioned country and gospel music and The Vineyard Rd bluegrass band will finish out the evening! Morgan Waggnor, from GetFit, will be hosting great games for the kids including sack races, three-legged races, and tug-a-war!
There will be heirloom quality quilts on display, free refreshments provided by Landmark Bank, Valley Church of Christ, First United Methodist Church (Celina), and Gunter Chamber of Commerce! The Gunter Fire Department will have plenty of pies for you to toss at your favorite community leaders!! The local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops will lead a flag ceremony followed by a Chuck Wagon dinner prepared by Corky Westman!
Meal tickets are $10.00 adult, $6.00 children under 12, FREE for children 3 and under
(Buy tickets in advance at the Gunter Library for a discount!!!).
Proceeds will benefit the Gunter Library and Museum! Be sure to enter your favorite pie for our contest! First place will receive an hour long massage from Jennifer Woodwell and Beauty Control product donated by Desiree DeVolk!!!!
