Touch a Truck Event – Saturday September 19th
The Gunter Parks Foundation is hosting their 2nd annual Touch a Truck fundraising event to raise money for the community-built playground.
“Touch a Truck” is coming back to Gunter on Saturday, September 19th, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Gunter City Park (across from the elementary school). This fun event will include a wide range of vehicles for children to climb on and explore. We are expecting tractors, bulldozers, garbage trucks, backhoes, fire trucks, a helicopter, and more. There will also be food for purchase. Touch a Truck is a fundraising event hosted by the Gunter Parks Foundation. Entry is $5/person or $20/family. All proceeds from this event will go towards Gunter’s future community-built playground.

The Gunter Parks Foundation has been working diligently with the community to raise $200,000 to build the playground and is within $20,000 of reaching our goal. The Gunter City Park currently has an old swing set, broken monkey bars, an old fashioned merry-go-round, and some picnic tables. The slide was removed recently for safety reasons. The community-built playground is the first project for the Gunter Parks Foundation.

Gunter Parks Foundation is dedicated to preserving, protecting, enhancing and promoting our city park. Its purpose is to acquire financial resources through contributions to make park improvements that provide the community an opportunity to play, gather, celebrate and learn.
